A disassembly of the iPhone Air shows that Apple's tiniest

As per usual, iFixit has done their excellent annual iPhone teardown and analysis, and they’ve discovered some great news about iPhone Air. The iPhone Air is still quite simple to fix, even if it is an extraordinarily thin engineering achievement.

The iPhone Air is primarily battery-powered on the inside, as Apple's speech illustrated. The camera plateau at the top contains the great majority of the parts. iFixit also posted a 3D x-ray scan of the iPhone Air on their site, showing off the precise layout of the device.

More specifically, iFixit emphasizes that the battery is still quite simple to change, especially thanks to its metal housing and adhesive strips that debond electrically. Last year, Apple unveiled those unique battery adhesive strips. Because the glue may be zapped with a 12V battery, third-party battery changes are possible without risk of battery puncture.

Furthermore, the iPhone Air still has a modular USB-C port, which makes port swapping simple in the event that component breaks. They also emphasize how the redesigned mid-frame design of the iPhone 14 allows you to access the phone without having to tamper with the OLED display.

Overall, the iPhone Air received a 7 out of 10 repairability rating from iFixit. The iPhone Air is equally repairable, as evidenced by the fact that the iPhone 16e and 16 Pro similarly received a 7 out of 10.

Apple's dedication to releasing individual parts for repair through their self-service repair store is largely responsible for their recent high score.
