As firefighters continue to tackle 14 large fires, Spain's prime minister has warned that the country is at "extreme risk" of seeing further wildfires.
Pedro Sanchez uploaded an image from the national weather service Aemet alerting people to the high risk of fire in the country's north and west on X, stating that he anticipated things to be "very tough again" on Friday.
After the fire destroyed over 1,500 square kilometers (579 square miles) and claimed seven lives, temperatures on the north coast of Spain are predicted to rise as high as 40 degrees Celsius.
This week, flames have broken out in Spain, Portugal, Greece, France, and the Balkans as a result of a heatwave that has burnt large areas of southeast Europe.
