Poland calls drone crash in the country's

Poland has called for a thorough investigation following the crash of a drone on its territory, raising concerns over airspace security and potential violations of national sovereignty. The incident occurred in a rural area near the eastern border of the country, where local authorities discovered the wreckage of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) believed to have originated from outside Polish airspace.

The Polish Ministry of National Defense confirmed the discovery and stated that initial assessments suggest the drone may be of military origin. While no injuries or significant damage were reported, the government emphasized the seriousness of the breach, calling it a potential threat to national security.

In a statement, Deputy Minister of Defense Michał Dworczyk said, “The unauthorized entry and crash of a drone on Polish soil is a clear violation of international and national airspace regulations. We demand a full investigation and will work closely with NATO allies to determine the origin and purpose of this UAV.”

Poland has already notified NATO and the European Union about the incident, invoking alliance protocols for collective security. Experts from the Polish Armed Forces and technical specialists have been dispatched to the crash site to recover and analyze the debris. Preliminary reports suggest the drone could be linked to ongoing military activities in neighboring regions, possibly related to the conflict in Ukraine.

Prime Minister Donald Tusk stressed the importance of vigilance, stating, “Poland will not tolerate any threats to its sovereignty. We are enhancing surveillance along our borders and coordinating with international partners to prevent similar incidents.”

The government has not yet attributed responsibility for the drone but warned that any deliberate violation of its airspace would be met with a firm response in accordance with international law.

As the investigation continues, Poland is urging all parties involved in regional conflicts to respect the territorial integrity of neutral and allied nations. The incident underscores growing concerns over the use of drones in modern warfare and their potential to escalate tensions beyond active conflict zones.
