Fans who were upset when the change was revealed last week will receive an apology from Cracker Barrel, which is sticking with its new logo.
If anything, the past few days have demonstrated to us how much people care about Cracker Barrel. We sincerely appreciate your sincere opinions," the business posted on its website on Monday. "You've also demonstrated to us that we could have shared who we are and will always be more effectively."
When Cracker Barrel revealed a streamlined logo last week that only included the chain's name, it drew criticism. The image of an elderly man leaning against a barrel while wearing overalls was no longer there. Additionally, the phrase "Old Country Store" was eliminated.
As part of a broader rebranding, Cracker Barrel updated their disorganized, antique-filled restaurants with lighter paint and contemporary furnishings.
Donald Trump Jr. was among the many social media users who opposed the new design. Some even threatened to boycott the company unless it was modified. The rival chain Steak n' Shake saw an opportunity and referred to the new logo as "a cheap effort to gain the approval of trend seekers."
In a statement posted on X, Steak n' Shake stated, "Cracker Barrel's heritage has brought it this far, and now the CEO wants to just scrap it all away."
