2025 AP Exam Scores Are Out: How Texas Students Can Check Them and What the Results Mean

Texas – Monday, July 7, 2025
Advanced Placement (AP) exam scores began rolling out this morning, marking a crucial academic milestone for high school students across Texas and the U.S. These scores determine whether students are eligible for early college credit and can skip introductory college courses.

Administered each May by the College Board, AP exams test students’ mastery of college-level material in subjects such as math, science, history, and languages.

🕒 When Are the Scores Released?

According to the College Board, AP scores become available starting at 8:00 a.m. local time on Monday, July 7.
Scores are released on a rolling basis, with most students expected to gain access to their results within the next two weeks.

How Can Students Access Their Scores?

Students will receive an email notification once their scores are available.

They can log into their My AP account on the official College Board website:

Note: Students must use the same account they used to register for AP exams and join class sections.

How Are AP Exams Scored?

Each AP exam is scored on a scale from 1 to 5:

  • 5 = Extremely well qualified

  • 4 = Well qualified

  • 3 = Qualified (passing)

  • 2 = Possibly qualified

  • 1 = No recommendation

A score of 3 or higher is generally considered a passing score and may qualify students for college credit, depending on their institution.

What Happens Next?

Students are encouraged to check the credit and placement policies of the colleges they plan to attend, as policies vary by institution.
